Redefining Reach: Telegenetics as a Gateway to Expanded Trial Access

Wed, Oct 8 | 09:45 AM - 10:15 AM

Session details:

Patient recruitment is one of the most critical and challenging aspects of clinical trial success in rare disease. In this session, leaders from Zevra Therapeutics and Genome Medical will share a collaborative, patient-first approach to tackling this challenge, using the DiSCOVER trial for vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (vEDS) as a case study.
The panel will explore how telegenetics services enabled the recruitment of highly qualified, trial-ready participants in a decentralized trial model. This approach accelerated enrollment and expanded the study’s geographic reach. Presenters will also discuss key operational elements that made the model scalable and patient-focused, including vendor partnerships, cross-functional collaboration and patient engagement techniques.
Attendees will gain practical insights into:

  • Overcoming barriers to recruitment in rare disease clinical trials
  • Building clinician-led engagement workflows that maximize trust, opt-in rates, and retention
  • Designing decentralized or hybrid trials that balance scientific rigor with patient convenience

Join us to explore how this collaborative model can contribute to more accessible and efficient research.
