Wendy Erler

Bio:

Wendy Erler is a biopharmaceutical executive recognized for her leadership in patient advocacy, rare disease strategy, and enterprise commercialization. She currently serves as Senior Vice President Patient Affairs for Sarepta. In this role, Wendy is a C-suite leader, bridging customer and company strategy to ensure patient-centricity with employees and in the work across the entire product lifecycle, from clinical trials to commercialization. Wendy demonstrates exceptional capability to positively build and support positive and rewarding cultures while embedding the patient voice as the north star in business decisions.

While at Alexion Astra Zeneca, Wendy led the Global Patient Experience function and was responsible for advancing an enterprise-wide, holistic model to systematically integrate patient insights across the business. She created frameworks and governance models to scale the work and report metrics for the Annual Corporate Report. Wendy sat on the HR and the Global Medical Affairs leadership teams. Across Astra Zeneca, Wendy built impact models and ways of working to drive impact. Wendy led unique and impactful initiatives including designing Women in Rare, impact on siblings in rare disease families, and patient friction coefficient clinical trial assessment frameworks.

Wendy brings deep expertise in rare diseases, oncology and other areas of healthcare and a proven track record of building and scaling high-impact teams and building functions. Prior to Alexion, she was a member of the executive leadership team at Wave Life Sciences, where she led Patient Advocacy and Commercial. During her tenure, she established both functions and developed the company’s commercialization strategy and forecast models.
