Dr. Rao V. Mantri is the Chief Manufacturing Officer (CMfgO) at Astellas, where he leads a global team focused on designing patient-centered products and ensuring efficient, high-quality supply.
His role encompasses various functions in Technology & Manufacturing. Since joining Astellas, Rao has been pivotal in accelerating product development and leveraging innovative capabilities across multiple modalities. With over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical value chain, he has a strong track record in global product development, manufacturing, and supply chain management from a major multinational pharmaceutical company.
Rao holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Kansas and an Executive MBA from the Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His expertise and strategic
insights drive his commitment to delivering innovative medicines to patients worldwide with urgency.
