Bio:
Michael Reilly is Chief Strategy Officer at Varda Space Industries, a company pioneering the manufacture of pharmaceuticals in orbit. Drawing on more than 35 years of leadership experience in biotechnology and advanced manufacturing, he is helping open a new frontier where microgravity can unlock better, more effective medicines.
At Varda, Mike leads strategic initiatives to translate the unique advantages of microgravity into practical applications for the biopharmaceutical industry. His work focuses on advancing space-enabled manufacturing to create new crystalline forms of drugs that are more stable, effective, and accessible.
Before joining Varda, Mike served as Head of Business Innovation at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where he developed novel strategies for global biomanufacturing and equitable access to medicines. Earlier in his career, he was the CEO of Integrity Bio, a biologics development and manufacturing company that he grew from startup scale into a leading CDMO, culminating in its acquisition by Curia. His career also includes senior roles at Amgen, Baxter, and Sanofi.
