Mark Leney, PhD, Senior Advisor, Science, CMC & Technical Operations

Dr. Leney advises clients and partners on strategic and operational issues related to the development, manufacturing and testing of investigational drugs. Mark was previously Deputy Director of MassBiologics, developing manufacturing, and testing both commercial and investigational biologics sponsored by both MassBiologics and CDMO clients; building, commissioning and operating GMP biocontainment, recombinant and viral vector manufacturing facilities. He was a Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and member of the Center for Clinical & Translational Science at UMass Medical School, worked as a forensic investigator for the United States Department of Defense and was on the faculty of Biological Sciences at the University of Oxford. Dr. Leney received a BSc from the University of Edinburgh, a PhD from the University of Cambridge, held the Cox Fellowship at New College, Oxford, was a EU Marie Curie Fellow in Athens, Greece and a Fellow of the Oak Ridge Institute for Science & Education.
