John Wichelt

Bio:
John Wichelt is the General Manager of Kindeva’s Bridgeton facility, where he oversees operations at the sterile fill finish manufacturing campus. With more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, he has built deep expertise across sterile manufacturing, facility expansion, quality systems, project management, maintenance and client service leadership.
Before joining Kindeva, John served as Vice President of Client Pharmaceutical Services at Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing (GRAM). In that role, he led strategic partnerships and project execution for high-value manufacturing programs, while also supporting capital expansions, facility services and commercial alignment.
During his time at GRAM, he played a central role in the design, construction, qualification, startup, maintenance and operation of the company’s 61,500-square-foot large-scale fill finish facility, helping to expand U.S. capacity for vaccine and biologic production. The facility achieved U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval with no Form 483 observations and received the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering’s 2021 Facility of the Year Award for Operational Agility.
Before his leadership roles in manufacturing, he served as a consultant and manager with ProPharma Group, where he supported global pharmaceutical clients through complex quality remediation and regulatory strategy.
John holds a degree in Business Management from Colorado Technical University and is currently completing his Master of Business Administration at the University of Illinois. He is passionate about building high-performing teams, driving excellence in product quality and advancing the future of sterile manufacturing.
