Bio:

Dr. Jenelle Krishnamoorthy is the Senior Vice President and Head of Global Policy & Public Affairs at Merck & Co., with deep expertise in domestic and global health policy. In this leadership role, she leads Merck’s integrated U.S. and global policy and public affairs strategy, steering enterprise-wide efforts to advance evidence-based policy, foster strategic partnerships, and expand sustainable access to Merck’s medicines and vaccines worldwide. Since joining Merck in 2015, Jenelle has delivered significant impact – most recently as vice president and head of global public policy – shaping and executing strategic policy and advocacy plans across our portfolio. Her deep expertise in U.S. and global health policy, coupled with prior senior government roles has been pivotal in navigating complex healthcare landscapes.

Before joining Merck, Jenelle served as an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow in Washington, D.C.; Health Policy Staff Director for the U.S. Senate HELP Committee (with oversight of FDA, CDC, and NIH); and at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, advancing U.S. policy in health, science, technology and the environment.

Jenelle completed her pediatric clinical psychology residency and post-doctoral fellowship at Brown Medical School, where she conducted research supported by the National Institutes of Health in the areas of childhood obesity and tobacco issues. Dr. Krishnamoorthy received her B.S. from Randolph-Macon College, M.S. from the University of Tennessee, and Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University. Jenelle is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
